All classes are taught by Denise Flora, Certified Trick Dog Instructor, Canine Conditioning Coach, and CGC Evaluator, using scientifically proven positive reinforcement methods. No flexi-leads or aversive equipment, such as prong, choke, electronic collars, or harsh corrections, are used or allowed in any of the classes. All classes can be taught in groups limited to 6 dogs or as individual private classes. Very affordable rates.
Proof of up-to-date vaccinations and health check from vet are required for ALL CLASSES.
PUPPY KINDERGARTEN – 5 months & under (8 week course) In Puppy Kindergarten, your little pup will enjoy learning basic cues and manners in a fun way. There will be plenty of playtime and socialization. Chewing, crate training, housetraining, and play biting will be discussed in all puppy classes.
AKC S.T.A.R. PUPPY – 8 weeks to 1 year (8 week course) AKC STAR Puppy is the puppy level of the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC). You will learn how to be a responsible Pet Parent and your puppy will begin to learn how to become a Canine Good Citizen. He/she will also work on the basic manners cues and more. Classes will be geared to the developmental stages of the puppies in the group. Ex. Younger puppies will focus more on socialization & play, older puppies more advanced skills.
BASIC MANNERS – 5 months & older (8 week course) This class is for the adolescent or adult dog. We will learn the basic cues which include sit, down, stay, stand, leave-it, wait, and more. We will also work on other household manners such as jumping, digging, chewing, ect.
AKC CANINE GOOD CITIZEN (CGC) – 12 months & older (8 week course) This class will focus on the 10 steps required to pass the CGC test which will be given at the end of the course. Dogs must have completed a S.T.AR. Puppy class Basic Manners class, or have very good focus ability.
CANINE GOOD CITIZEN TEST – adult or older puppy – By appointment
FIT PUP CONDITIONING – puppies, adults, seniors (6 week course) Safe conditioning exercises will be taught for strength in the core, front end, & rear end. balance, proprioception, and stretching exercises. Exercises are chosen according to the abilities of the students. This class is great for helping to prevent injuries in all dogs, especially sports active dogs.
FUN SCENT GAMES – all ages (6 week course) In this class, your dog will systematically search for food in boxes & other objects. Highly recommended for active dogs, dogs with physical limitations, or anyone just wanting to have fun! Level of difficulty increases each week. No special skills needed! Dogs and pet parents give this class an A+ for fun!
TRICKS, GAMES, AND TREATS – 4 months and older ( 7 week course) Plan to have LOTS of fun as you and your pup learn several tricks including crawl, spin, prayers, & more while earning the Do More with Your Dog Novice Trick Dog title. Already have your Novice title? No worries! We can gear the class to accommodate more advanced levels as well! We will also play several fun games!
FUN FORCE FREE SNAKE AVOIDANCE – 5 months and older (8 week course) Do you worry that your pup may get bitten by a snake or other dangerous critter due to curiosity? The games in this class will teach your pup to avoid all types of distractions without shock or other painful corrections. Your pup will also develop better focus and self control. The communication between you and your pup and your relationship will become stronger.
BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS – all ages – (1 hour of fun) Celebrate your precious pup’s birthday or adoption with a special celebration that includes up to 5 of his/her doggy friends & their human parents. There will be a special treat, games, a special handmade bandana for the birthday dog, a group photo, & lots of fun. Parties MUST be scheduled AT LEAST 2 WEEKS IN ADVANCE! (Date & time subject to availability) For safety sake, no children under 10 years will be allowed! Thanks!
